2 tbsp all-purpose flour (freshly milled from wheat)

1 large egg

1 medium onion, cut into chunks

1 medium green bell pepper, chopped

1 medium red bell pepper, chopped

1 cup fresh pineapple chunks (optional but traditional for sweet and sour flavor)

3 medium tomatoes, blended into puree

2 tbsp homemade sugar or powdered jaggery

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice or natural vinegar made from fermented fruit

3 tbsp homemade vegetable oil for frying and cooking

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

1 tsp salt or to taste

½ cup water

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Coating

In a bowl combine chicken pieces, corn flour, all-purpose flour, egg, salt, and black pepper.
